So up on the top of my intake is this ugly square intake resonance chamber held down by only 4 bolts. They obviously put it there for a reason. If I remove it and cap the hole that should be fine correct? Does anyone have any video of the change in noise?

 

It's for cancelling sound, I bet if you remove it it'll make it louder... just a thought.

 

it also helps with making torque. if you remove it, then it will lose mid range torque. just throw an early model crv intake on if you want to get rid of it

 

Okay the quest is to not lose any torque as this engine is in a 99 civic cx. So I guess I'll keep it thanks for the help.

 

I removed mine on my 99 crv and didn't feel any loss of low or mid range torque. If you have an intake on it already you probably won't even notice a difference
