1993 Honda civic si wont start randomly
Hey I have a 1993 Honda Civic Si with the D16Z6 motor. I am showing code 43 CEL. I have been for a while well i noticed that the fuel pump killed out one day. I replaced it about a month ago and up until two days ago the car has ran just fine. Well now it sounds like the fuel pump isnt working again. I took it out and tested it and it worked just fine. I put it back in still nothing. Well I was about to check for spark and it fired up and was running just fine, shut it off it started back up and ran just fine. I drove it came back home shut it off let it sit for about two hours went to try to start it up and still nothing.. Im at a lost any ideas guys thanks for any input..

Whack your lower dash by the main relay if you don't hear the fuel pump prime. Usually this fixes the problem temporarily - at least enough to get you going.
Intermittent no fuel pump prime when starting is often the capacitors in the ECU (especially C14) failing due to moisture/heat cycles. 21 year old ECU.
Very common problem. That's why people say try a known good ECU.
Eventually the caps fail totally and then you will just crank all day.

Ok I know it's between the relay and ecu maybe this child help point out which one to buy. I have been working so haven't messed with the car in days but I won't out to move it and the car started right up and ran just fine. After I moved it I turned the key on and no fuel pump yet again and the car just turns over.. I am trying to find someone who can just let me borrow one or the other but until then this is all I have to go on.. thanks again guys!
