Hey all, trying to find this thing. I recently picked up an 86 Accord DX, fuel injected, with 158k miles. It runs great when it runs. I had to put a battery in it and the previous owner suspects it also needs a fuel pump.

Symptoms include hard/no start when outside temp is high 90s to over 100. The car will also run when cooled down for a few miles, but then sputters out as if running out of fuel. I have not checked fuel pressure yet, but it has decent spark.

I have read about main/fuel pump relays being a popular culprit. I have searched all over the web, forums, and youtube and can't seem to locate this relay. Any help? Right now, I am looking in the area on the driver's side above the main fuse box area. I have unbolted and pulled back the fuse box and what should be the cruise control module (doesn't look exactly the same as what I've seen online). The pics will show roughly what I am looking at. The darn thing just isn't where it should be according to what I have read. The only thing I can think of is that it is up higher, but this would put it above or outside of a heater vent in the area. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking mainly in the area above and outside the clutch pedal/hood latch area.

Are you sure it's fuel injected? I may be wrong but I believe the DX came with a carbureted (2bbl) engine. The LXi's were the fuel injected trim.
