Alright so the other night, without any tampering with, my car started and died. And then went on to not start. The fuel pump would sometimes not engage when I turned the key to on. After numerous attempts I got the car to start while the fuel pump was engaged considering it would engage then after 5-6 seconds I couldn't hear it anymore. So my question is, is it a bad fuel pump or bad relay? Also when getting low on gas the car takes longer in it's startup. Thanks in advance

 

When the engine won't start and the pump won't prime, does the CEL remain on steady when the key is turned to ON(II)?

 

Sometimes it's on when it's on II and sometimes it's not. More often than not. I also forgot to mention that when the fuel pump engages before the car is turned on, it makes the sound of it turning on then stops. Is this normal?
