B16a idle surge
I swapped my gsr cams out with some b16a2 cams suddenly it's idle surging. I made sure the coolant was topped off, checked for vacuum leaks even cleaned the iacv. Still does it. It doesn't always do it. But sometimes it'll surge so low my car will die. How do I tell if it's the tips or iacv. Someone told me if you in plug it your motor should rev up an idle high. Is this true. When I do that my car just dies. I don't have access to a volt meter to check voltage at the tips.
So lemme see. You swapped in the stock cams for the engine now it runs like crap? Are you still running the ECU that was chipped for the old setup?
I suggest you list all mods still on the car, or if it's back to stock and what car this is in cause it could be in a Jeep Renegade for all we know.

They car should be irrelevant. But for ***** and giggs it's in a 99 ek 4 door. The ecu is chipped with a b16 basemap. The Motor is basically stock besides flat valves and BC valve train. The tune isn't the problem. I had stage 2 cams in it and it ran better than this on the same tune. All I'm asking is how to determine if my iacv is going out.
Jdm b16a in a 99 ek. Yes the cooling system is bled. No it's not throwing any codes. And I'm not sure if that motor uses a fitv. I'll have to look at I tomorrow. But it does it cold and hot. So I don't think that's the cause either.

Why are you so prone to draw potentially false conclusions? If you know so much, why did you need to create a thread?
