13.1 Compression H22a choking out
Hey everyone I have a h22a that is bored to 89mm, 13.1 compression, skunk2 pro2 cams and all supporting engine stuff to make it go bwahhh.
The engine made 247 whp and 181 tq at 8500 rpm on race gas. That was tuned with a SSR header, and a ARC airbox. Since then, I have put on a All-In-Fab 3 inch intake with a velocity stack. I put on a garbage ebay header, just drove it open header. Didnt get it tuned with the new header or intake. The AFR was fine, and it drove fine. Then I was sick of the loudness, and for a show, I temporarily welded up an exhaust with spare piping I had, which happened to be 2.5 inch. Now, after welding that up, the car seems to be breaking up at 6000-8500 rpms. Seems like its missfiring and just running like ****. Im thinking its the combo of the header and exhaust. What do you guys think?
Im planning on just pulling the trigger on a smsp header and building a 3 inch exhaust, and retuning on e85. Thoughts?

I had that problem with some dc 4-2-1 header. Make sure min your running 2.5 and 3" would be best. I changed to Toda Rep header and bam vtec was not breaking up.
