Default Brand new owner of a black 2014 Si Sedan

For the purists out there, the 9th Gen Si may not be the favorite, but in the first 6 miles, I like it fairly well. It is the first time I have bought a new car, have always bought used prior in my life.

Only thing I don't like is how soft the motor/tranny mounts are, I feel like the engine rocks back and forth ridiculously at lot, and that makes the car feel spongy on every shift, but I'm biased towards cars that aren't really comfortable on the street.

My other car is a 1994 E36 Sedan (double black almost fully converted to full black interior) that I've spent piles on, but it's no fun to get tickets in, I mean, to drive on the street, and pretty extensively modified as well.

Full kit, with suspension reinforcements welded in, a mix of solid and poly bushings, and full adjustment on all 4 corners, with a custom Bilstein/Swift spring setup, and a supercharged '95 M3 motor.

I also had a somewhat track prepped '91 Sentra SE-R with a VVL motor and virtually 0 weight reduction that I ran 1:36 laps on street tires for a solid day at Big Willow some years back and can still drive FF better than FR on a track any day of the week (instincts are mostly geared still towards FF)

Mostly, I bought the Si with a few thoughts in mind.

1) Keep it stock, as much as possible.
2) It will hold 2 baby seats (I have an 11 month old now, and another in planning.
3) It handles pretty well, and has a pile of good accessories.
4) Tons of car for the money.. really. Not many options in the $25k range that.
5) Ridiculous resale value in the event I want to get rid of it.
6) I might end up keeping it until offspring #1 makes it to driving age.. pretty dang decent to get a 15-16 year old Si.
7) Might be fun to alternate a track day with the Si instead of the super saloon.
8) Love the higher torque rating on the modern Si's with 170 / 205hp SAE net. Haven't taken it to the dyno yet.

Trying to stay away from modding it, but it could use an inch of drop, about 100-300 lbs on each corner in the spring rates, and a turbo kit.. but I live in CA, so it'd have to be CARB, and I am not doing a dang thing to it until I get it paid off and out of warranty, and intend to keep it or risk killing the resale value. In fact, it's actually got plenty of power for it's ~2800lbs, and so far feels to be pretty finely balanced.

I also tend to like the slightly heavier in the rear end weight distribution of a sedan, despite the extra weight in general.

For a guy who has usually stripped out all tech from several of my cars, I find myself appreciating the great features.. getting used to the screen, might buy the Nav app, and love finally having a car I didn't have to graft functionality like that into if I were to want it.

It's got things about the look I don't like, but nothing I can't look past, no pun, and I think overall looks pretty good.

I had been scheming on a used WRX STI, but those are either trashed and modified to hell, or unobtainium, or overpriced and 5 years old with 70k for more than this Si cost. Very different cars, but still not the same value proposition. This Si is a sweet little ride.

All that and a 6 speed / helical LSD with 31mpg and enough torque to use a 6th gear I can't detect a hit of torque steer yet, but I haven't really tried.

Anyone with break in tips for the Si?

Also, the clutch pedal engages ridiculous high. I want it just off the floor, is it easy to adjust?

Oh yeah, and my wife has an '07 Accord EX sedan that's not bad and 57k on the odo.
