Ever put a 90-91 Prelude steering wheel on a Del Sol?
It's actually this thread "What OEM steering wheels fit my car" that got me started on OEM steering wheel swaps. I noticed the prelude and del sol spline count and measurement are the same...
But when searching the ol' google I couldn't come up with anybody that's actually done it. (though someone in that thread put one in a 93 civic with slight alteration...)
I can't be the only one that thinks the 90-91 prelude steering wheels look pretty cool? It's not a Momo, (have one in my civic), but for $20 at the wreckers I would say it's a nice cheap alternative.
Anybody ever try it? Have any luck with other OEM wheels?
Which OEM wheels do you like or dislike?

the air bag and pre airbag wheels are completely different, anything pre airbag will pretty much fit any other Honda

I have a first generation Accord wheel thats going to go in my 86 accord, which is third generation, fits perfectly, if you look at grant adapters, it's the same adapter for almost every Honda until the air bag, the only minor issue is sometimes the plastic on the back of the wheel will rub on the column surround. it just takes some clearancing. The main rubbing issue I've seen is the lude wheels on the Accord, even thats a minor fix, if you want a classy looking Honda wheel, look for the 3rd generation Accord SEI wheel, it will give you both cruise buttons and radio controls, they are originally for the BOSE system, but if you use an SWI X adapter, they can be made to work with any aftermarket head unit, with a remote control

I tried putting it in today (the 91' lude wheel in the del sol), and the splines match, but it is wayyy too close to the dash (like the post above - thanks). a $20 experiment, but a fail. I've seen that others have modded it to make it doable, but I decided to let this one go. Too bad as it's a nice wheel IMO. At least I'll get credit at the wreckers for taking it back!
The research was not in vain however, I picked up a momo with a 95 prelude hub, (knowing the splines match) for a decent deal, and it fits perfecto.
Also the smaller diameter momo feels much better in the relatively cramped space of the del sol. More knee room.
Can you turn on your highbeams? I couldn't think of a logical or safe way to make it work really. I started considering cutting up the column cover to make it fit, and then I realized my knees didn't really fit under the wheel at that position. I'm only 6', but I guess that's kindof tall for a del sol.
Thanks for the response!

I even got so far as to make the cruise buttons work. I don't count too many failed experiments but this was one of them. The combo switches either hit the wheel or came very close, plus there was a chance you'd hit them with your hand as you turned the wheel. All in all, no good.
