Hello. I'm new to this blog/forum. I'm from Pretoria, South Africa. I'm a mech engineer that loves Honda and like electronics as a hobby.
It's winter here now and terribly cold. My hands are near frozen, so please excuse any typos.
I have a 1996 Honda Civic (called a Ballade in RSA), with 273000 km on the clock. Engine still original, although i opened it to clean out the water channel around the sleeves. Was going strong untill i picked up an ignition problem. The built-in ICM in the distributor was blown. Now, it seems i cannot find any replacements in RSA anymore. According to Honda SA, they don't stock parts for this Honda anymore, because it's too old! My car is actually still in very good nick. I will post a picture next time, as i still need to find out how to do that. I'm old and feel real dumb when it comes to modern tech stuff (iPads, computers, etc.) So, i'm busy investigating to build a DIY ignition module. Any suggestions will be most welcome.
