Ok guys. First post, but been creeping around for a while and found plenty of helpful.threads but I've been searching all over the web tonight and can't figure.out.my.problem.

Let me start from the beginning, about 9 months ago i got a 93 accord F22A1 for $800 from.a friend cuz he needed a truck for work. I've never been a honda guy(minitrucker for life) but it was slammed and looked pretty good so i figured id help him.out. but it has been nothing but trouble. Well.when.i.got it the transmission was having.issues. put.a.new transmission in it. it was fine for a while. then i drug through the oil pan and before i realized it, the head was shot.from no oil. So i got an A6 head and was doing fine. other than some minor, aggravating problems in between all the big problems.

Well i started noticing a knocking in the motor. sounded like it was comingfrom.the.head so.i.tried adjusting the valves. didn't help. then i.notice my oil pressure dropping at idle when it warmed up. Changed the.oil and it helped with the oil pressure for.a week or two. nut the.knock.continued.didn't hear the knockwhen.it was in park other than occasionally. but you.get.hear it.while driving. searched all ver for causes. and i.came up with oil pressure switch and oil pump for the low pr essure. got a mew pressure.switch and still haf the problem. so i.figured it was the oil pump. got.a free lower mileage motor from.a.friend so i.just.went.ahead and swapped motors.

when i.pulled the old motor the cam had a big.groove in one of the journals which i.assumed was where the.knocking.was coming from. compleutely tore the old motor down. pistons, crankshaft and everything looked normal other than normal wear.

put the new motor in(it was in good shape.he just swapped it out for an H23, No.rebuild, just replaced seals and such, water pump, belts, etc.) a nd it was running great. still is. At.1900 miles . Well at about 800 miles the knocking.started.again and has gotten.worse. i.figured the cam was goin bad so i.pulled it.out.tonight.and it looked.great so idk.what.thr problem is unless this oil pump.is going out.to
its.driving.me.crazy.

This.is.the only.thing i have.to.drive.right now so i.need it fixed asap. i was planning on goin.to get another.head tomorrow but.now.i.don't know if it.will.fix the.problem. id hate.to waste time and money if it.doesn't help.

Get a motor from a reputable company and quit buying junk motors from that friend.

 

you may be having issues with the car platform. What I mean by that is the fuel system, tune, sensors etc. The car may be creating the knock issue via fueling issues or sensor issues. Just a thought. You may not see why it was knocking unless you have sized the bearings etc. Might just be bad luck
