I have 95 honda accord vtec and it wont let me pass 4000 rpms. once i hit 4k it just kicks me back down to 3.5 and i dont know why. I have a new distributor cap, starter, spark plugs and good oil. I need help!

Check for any and all codes. If no codes possibly a clogged cat could be the cause.

 

Got VTEC? Check your oil level. If it is too low the VTEC oil pressure switch will not be activated. The engine will not be able to rev.

 

Any check engine light? Could be going into limp home.

I'm having a lil problem with my 95 Honda Accord 2.2L Vtec and i need help. My starter recently went out so i put a new one in an it started my car good only the problem is now it wont let me go to 4k rpms. Once i pass 3.5k and goes into 4k it bogs down a bit and kicks me back down to 3.5k I dont know the cause of the problem i checked everything and it seems to be good. My CEL is on only because i hit a squirrel and my sensor went out but other than that i dont know what it might be i just put in new spark plugs as well.

 

How many replies is it gonna take before you start diagnosing the issue ?
