I have a 96' Accord with a cruise issue. If you pres the button on the dash the green light will light up on the button but when you try to set the cruise on the steering wheel the light on the instrument panel does not light up and the cruise control does not engage. I am beginning to think maybe a wire issue in the steering wheel? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Any history? It was working then this happened and it stopped?

Auto or manual trans in this car? Also was it OE with the trans or a swap.

 

It stopped working about 2007 I believe. The car has been in my family since 1996 but just recently became mine. It's an auto trans and the cruise system and transmission are both OEM and have not been replaced.

 

This could be a number of issues - testing will be needed to narrow it down.
