2006 Element - After charging AC only blows cold intermittently
So I wanted to get the wife's AC a little colder I figured I'd charge some more R134a into it, when using the DIY charger, the gauge showed about 35 PSI. I charged prob about 9oz or so. Then we went on a drive, now, while driving, it stops blowing cold air intermittently. Blows cold for a few seconds, then blows regular air for 30-45 secs, then cold for a few seconds, etc. After letting the car sit and turned it back on, initially it was fine , blowing cold no problem, after about 5 minutes of running idle it started the issue again, I can see (and hear the compressor stopping and starting as the cold air blows and then regular air blows) I put the DIY can w/gauge back on the low port and it reads around 40psi, maybe slightly higher. So I do not think it got overcharged, just not sure what else I could have done that caused this issue to pop-up.
Any help/advice would be appreciated. I am in Texas and wife is going to kill me if her AC is not working 24/7.

Turns out neighbor had the whole setup t charge and evacuate so we just took out what I put in and it seems to be back to normal. That''s teach me to try and do something for the wife w/o being asked to do it.
glad your neighbor helped you out. those cans with guages are typically bad news bears.
The guages don't work and there is a thing called putting too much refrigerant in the system which causes it to blow hot as well.
I hope you guys got it all sorted out.
Also most shops with a AC Machine will do the work for you for less than $100 their machine drains the system checks vacuum, adds the correct amount of r134a to your system along with oil.
