I just installed a backup camera in my trunk key hole in my 4 door Special Edition. The power wires are short. I have it hooked up wrong. Now it's going to the wires in the lights that are on the lid, but the reverse camera only comes on when I put it in R when the lights are on. W hitch color wires do I use and where are they?

 

I am guessing you want to know the color of the reverse lights? If so it's only 2 wires. A power and a ground. So one wire going to be black that should be the ground and yeah that only leaves the other wire which is Green.

 

Yeah. That's what I did. Black for ground and green with red stripe and silver squares for positive but yet it only works with the parking lights on. Is it BC I used the wires from the small white square in the light on the trunk lid instead of the white square on the quarter panel ?

 

The circuit diagram for the back-up lights show Grn/Blk as the power (+) wire. Grn/Blk is a green colored wire with a black stripe.

The grn/blk is at various locations: 8P gray connector at left side of trunk area (SE); 2P gray connectors on either side of trunk lid; 6P blue connector for trailer lighting at left rear trunk.

 

thanks guys. Yeah I had the wrong wire. I had the power wire hooked into a red one. When I hooked it into the green and black ones it works.
