I have a masters license for commercial-residential hvac.I have pulled 3 to 4 lbs of hair out concerning 1-my nieces 96 civic-2 my brothers 2000 civic and 3 my girls 95 civic and 4- my 94 civic.Here goes-Replace a compressor -flush lines -new condenser-- new o-rings everywhere -pull a 29hg vacuum wait 30 minutes no leaks -weigh in on scales 21.5oz r134a AND system cools for 4 minutes at 90 degrees and starts cycling like it is satisfied at the thermistor.TODAY-my trucks 4l80 trans died and the only thing in the yard was my 94 civic factory 134a civic which had leaked down.I pulled a quick vacuum and weighed in 21.7oz automotive 134a from a brand new national 134a 30lb cylinder .I said national brand automotive 134a.Coldest damned air I have felt from any of my familys civics.I weighed in total liquid THEN started the engine to add the final 3 oz.-IS there a liquid charge rule in the honda shop?-Is automotive 134a different?I look to hear from the super honda a/c techs on this one.

 

Are you saying that you are having refrigerant leakage issues?

What weight of R134a is listed on the label under the hoods of your Civics?

Are you also replacing the receiver/dryer?

 

I have a new compressor and condenser on the way but I needed to use it today and I am getting too old and pissed to drive in hot mode.And of course it leaks-Duke

 

All 4 Civics you recharged have leaks?

Have you used an electronic refrigerant leak detector or a leak-detecting dye to pinpoint the leaks?

Maybe you also should see whether the system holds vacuum overnight before recharging the system.

 

The leak is not the point.
