b20 ticking noise HELP
I have a problem with my jdm hi-comp b20 i want to see if someone can give me a lil help. I got it from hmotorsonline since I've had it I only put 120 miles ..Its making a ticking noise I cant seem to figure out what's causing it. To me its sounds like it coming from the manifold/ fuel rail area.. I took a video to see what you guys think. Link below
setup

Stock Ls fuel rail and fpr

did you check the valve lash? the b20's specs are tighter than the vtec's.
also, ive seen more than a few of them have a little tick or clack to them from that area. most often it goes away once warmed up might just be the rocker arms warming up and coming into spec

My thoughts are it's one of two things... valve lash or loud injectors. I've heard some nasty injectors over the years and it's amazing how much noise they can make.
If you don't have any fancy way of listening to the motor (diagnosis microphones, stethescope) you can use a long pry bar or screwdriver. Touch the pry bar to the part of the motor you suspect is making noise and put your ear directly on the end of the handle. The sound will travel right up the handle and you'll hear it perfectly.
