93 Honda prelude misses
Hey, my 93 honda prelude has trouble at low rpms and idleing and seems to miss checked my spark plugs there all good. My dad said something about coil packs or distributor how could i check to see if there good or not? Has anyone had similar problems? It has an h22a1 engine.
I just posted this in another thread with idle issues. Not sure how to check coil packs, if its sparking/runinng at all id guess its working. But getting a new cap and rotor couldnt hurt anything.
Off the top of my head I think this is all that can effect idle, I may be forgetting something;
- Ignition timing "make sure to jump service plug when doing"
- IACV "can be cleaned/replaced"
-FITV "can be cleaned/replace"
-MAP "can be cleaned/replaced"
-O2' sensor "can be cleaned/replaced"
-TPS "requires calibrating"
-EGR "cleaned replaced"
-EGR ports "cleaned"
Other possibilities;
- Clogged secondary fuel filter
- Injector(s) clogged or getting stuck open/closed
- Vacuum leak on intake manifold gasket
- Vacuum leak else where
- Idle screw has been turned too much
- Tune/injectors "never mind if stock ECU and stock injectors"
Im not sure what else to say other then give suggestions. Its incredibly hard to pin point a problem over the internet.

lol this car doesn't have coil packs
I would first clean the outer metal filter of the iacv after removing the two bolts and sliding it away from the intake manifold. If that doesn't fix it I would pull the oxygen sensor and see if it idles better. It will throw a code, which is no big deal since you want to know if the sensor is bad.

I was thinking the external coil in my head, not coil pack....
