Hi guys, my project is almost done but I'm having trouble finding where some last hoses connect to. I would really appreciate some help identifying these connections--once this is done, I can start her up

The car is a 2000 GSR, stock b18c1, just bolt-ons.

I have attached some pictures but will also explain them too.

#1: Far left red cap is for a hose/connection I cannot identify. It is left of the radiator hoses and under the intake manifold. See picture. Where does this connect to?

#2: Heater connections are gold small pipes sticking through the firewall. The left one (closer to p/s) connects via a rubber hose and is already connected but I'm not sure correctly. But the right gold pipe connection (closer to the d/s) is still without a hose and I'm not sure where this goes. Any identifying pics would be very helpful.

Q's:

In order to bypass the heater, I know I loop the two gold pipes by connecting them together. If I wanted to keep the heater, where would the two connect to?

I have looked over diagrams and searched all the forums for info on these. It's different seeing an actual picture of the bay and hoses as compared to diagrams--it would be very helpful to add pictures and descriptions of the connections. Thank you for the help.

Another question...if I used the heater bypass hose, how would I plug the other connection I wouldn't be using? It can be seen in the first pic...heater port on the left w/ the valve connects via the hose up towards the front of the engine. What would I do with that?

 

that should loop to the side of the head, if I have time i'll take pics of how mine is looped.

I get the looping the heater core brass connections at the firewall. But I want to see what would be looped towards the front off the head. I don't want to connect the wrong things...

You might think I'm crazy, but can you confirm the engine nameplate says B18C1? I'm having to go by 1998 year model, so the 2000 may be different.

I haven't even messed with it. Been sick and working too much.

But, just to be sure I want to get some better pics tonight and circle the right connections so you can see. I need to get a pic with all the connections in it...panorama

Ok, here's a good illustration of what I'm talking about.

#1 Illustrates the copper connection on the firewall. There are two of these connections: #1 and another to the left of it where the yellow line/hose is and is connected to it.

Yellow line is the first heater hose and it connects following the line to the front of the engine bay. From what you have said, the connection for the yellow line would connect to #1 to bypass the heater hoses. And #2 would connect to the right yellow line connection? Correct?

But, I want to find out how to connect the other connection, #2 and to use the heater since I would prefer to not bypass it. So, does #2 connect to #1 in order to use the heater?

 

Looks right. Connect #1 and #2 together and you'll be able to use the heater. The hose you traced with the yellow line has the heater selector valve in line, close to the firewall.

If you wanted to bypass the heater, you would connect #2 to the nipple right there under the distributor. Or just cap both nipples off, and you shouldn't have an issue.

It just looked odd for the second connection to have such a prominent curve in the hose. That's a 90* angle to connect the two...just looked weird.

I hope this helps anyone else looking for hose information after a swap or install.
