89 Civic - transmission and suspension questions
I'm new to the Honda world and I have a 1989 Honda Civic DX hatchback I'm just trying to make it a clean simple Street cruiser I just need help on what's best to do to my vehicle to get it to where I wanted to be.
first thing I'm trying to do is a transmission swap from a four-speed to a 5 speed what are the best transmissions I could use for my car that can Bolt straight up?
second thing I'm trying to do is give it a clean Low Stance what is needed to give it a low aggressive look?
those are things I'm trying to do now if anybody can help me please respond back.

More specifically an 88-91 D-Series transmission is what you want because it uses a cable actuated clutch like your car is set up for. Generally speaking the higher the trim level the transmission is originally from the better. There is a difference on spline count on 88 models so be weary (I'll leave you with that to search for on your own).
I'd get an 89-91 Si Trans, wouldn't worry about LSD really since I don't think that's where you should spend your money.
Suspension is always going to be Koni/GC as far as HondaTech is concerned.
I'm still a Progressive suspension fanboy. The drop springs would do you good. You could probably upgrade the stock struts while you are at it. If you just want a decent ride and a lowered look, springs and struts will be enough.
