I need to replace my cat to pass a Cali smog test. The universal version (weld on) is significantly cheaper than the direct fit version of the same model/executive order number. I figure I can just buy the universal version and have some flanges welded on and it will save me a ton of money.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure the dumbass car dealer who I bought the car from, just welded on some random cat that doesn't even go to my car. So I have nothing to base the size off of. I need to know the total over all length (from the end/outside edge of one flange to the other). That way when I have the flanges welded on the new cat, it will be the same exact overall length as the OEM cat.

Also, anyone know where I can actually find the OEM style flanges?

Just did a quick Wikipedia search of your location "DFW". First result is Dallas - Fort Worth... I'm assuming that's where you live? If so, unfortunately your cat won't work for me because of Cali's super strict emissions regulations.

But if you wouldn't mind busting out a tape and measuring from end to end, I'd really appreciate it.
