acl bearings made in china?
I searched for this but I didn't find the answers I was looking for. I read that ACL Australia sold part of its business and they don't make the standard bearings anymore. The last time I bought a set was years back and it came in a blue box. Has anyone used these "new" ones from China? I am not sure if these are of same quality and thinking of sending them back.

Plenty of quality products come out of China... it's only the shitty ones you hear about that turn everyone away from "chinese" parts.
the production facilities in Australia and China should be identical, the China facility could be even larger and more precision oriented than the Australian facility.
if it worries you that much then contact ACL directly (not the reseller you purchased from) and ask them about the quality of the Chinese vs Australian facility, either via phone call or email.

Check your part number on the boxes, if the first set of numbers end with an A then return them. Those are the bearings made with a really soft aluminum material, if any shavings get in there it will dig into the bearing and therefore will cause failure. The bearings you want are the ones where the first set of numbers end with an H or HX. With a stock motor you can get away with the A bearings, but if built then stick with the H or HX. Mike @ Laskey Racing can vouch for me on this.

Yea I've had experience with those.
built a motor for a friend back in the day before anyone knew about the "a" bearings. motor randomly nuked a bearing in 3,000 miles.

These were the "A" bearings and have since been returned. I went with oem bearings instead...$$$. I have piece of mind now especially since this engine is for a close friend of mines. Thanks for the replies.

I find it humorous that the label says that tdc China has nothing to do with ACL, yet ACL says they aren't responsible for the box with their products in it, their name on it, and they sold it....
that's holding/shell company gold right there.

Peace of mind knowing quality parts are in your engine = priceless
I also doubted the ACL bearings so I used the OEM Bearings instead.
Im not so sure about the Chinese version of ACL.
Y take the chance after spending all that cash on a proper build...

I never even looked at aftermarket bearings. I wanted exact clearences so the only way was with oem bearings. In actuality I spent closer to 280 on vearings because I initially ordered 3 sets of 3 different colors to gauge how close the stock setting was, then ordered a full set in the size I needed.
