94 Integra Stutters, Stalls, please help.
I have a 94 Integra, non V-tech, automatic. I just recently swapped the engine which had a bad piston knock for a newer engine with 120,000KM on it. The new engine came out a manual trans Integra, although i know the transmission should be the only difference i thought i would include it.
For the most part the engine works fine, but it will stutter if put under load, as in starting on a hill. If you give it lots of gas it will take off and work fine, if you don't give it gas fast enough it will drop to about 300 RPM, almost stall then crank up to about 3000 RPM. When driving on the highway it runs quite well with a 300-400 RPM drop every once in a while.
Sometimes when starting from a stop it will stall out, but that has only happened recently. The distributor is fine, as well as the timing. Does anyone have a idea of what this could be? Any help would be appreciated. Since it works fine most of the time i am wondering if it could be a sensor of some sort? I am new to dealing with Honda Engines and this is my get back and forth to work car.
