An intake is an intake, either one will yield comparable gains. Mine was a no-name with 1/4" bigger piping than AEM---$50 on ebay, can't beat the price

Get whatever one you think looks better because performance wise they will be pretty much identical.

I would get an aem. My main reason is because of its street legality. Cops around my area trip on non-carb legal modifications!!!

Has anybody cut their aem to make it a 2 piece design like Iceman? I want to avoid hydrolock . Or instead, what do you guys think of buying a short ram and making my own ghetto icebox style intake?

Cool, I was thinking of trying to get the K&N cone to fit in the regular airbox. Do you think it'll work? Also, did you notice if the hole in the for the resonator tube is round or oval? On my 5th gen its oval, so I was thinking of using a dremel to make it a nice 3"+ hole, what about your 4th gen?

well guys you gotta remember...

AEM Cold Air induction systems create MORE horsepower than EVERY intake system on the market. Only AEM induction systems feature CNC mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum intake pipes that are individually tuned in both length and diameter to maximize power in each application. Every AEM intake is powder coated and has TIG-welded fittings and brackets. For filtration, AEM utilizes its new lightweight urethane, four-layer cotton-gauze filter that features a redesigned air horn that makes an additional 1-3 HP on our Air Induction Systems. All AEM air induction systems are C.A.R.B. exempt or pending exemption (50 state legal) and come with complete installation hardware, comprehensive instructions, AEM decal and license plate frame.

here's a run down,

Air Induction Systems key features:
-Outperform every intake system on the market
-Only air induction systems on the market that utilize a complete hardware kit with soft mounts for a guaranteed perfect fit every time
-Every intake system is C.A.R.B. exempt or pending exemption (50 state legal)
-Available in blue, red, silver and polished for show-quality looks
-NEW Exclusive one-piece AEM filter eases installation and improves performance
-Manufactured and assembled in the USA (no sweat shops here)

from AEM , although i deleted one part and added something yo, lol

There's absolutely no proof of that. Every manufacturer says their stuff is the best.

Yup, If all I wanted was your money, I'd say something similar to that. There is some truth to having less bends and creating more power, but the difference is negligible.
