Default A/C Repair

Hey everyone, I've had a problem with my air conditioner for a while now and I'm just finally trying to get the thing to work. So basically, when I turn the air conditioner on, it blows warm air. No matter how cold it is outside, the car always blows warmer than outside air. I look at the compressor a few months ago and it was running and the clutch was engaging, but still no cold air. Recently, I tried to turn it on again and the compressor doesn't start at all. I'm thinking that I may need to put in some freon, but I have no idea about this stuff honestly. I know a shop in my area that will evacuate my lines for free, but I'm not sure thats what I should do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Also my dad said that he had just gotten the evaporator changed a year ago and I remember that the A/C did work around a year ago, but I'm not sure if the repairs he got done were a year ago or more.

The ac system is a closed system. When you don't have enough freon(or refrigerant) that means there's a leak. You need to have the leak found and fixed, then recharged.

To be sure, find the ac pressure switch, normally found by the left headlight in the ac piping, disconnect the connector, test for continuity across the pins of the switch. No continuity means you have a leak somewhere.
