Not sure yet,,, Lemme drive one and tell you.
The ITR does Rock but, I also remember driving a Miata for the first time and it was a total blast... All depends... but, I wouldn't rule it out and fot that price? It's not a steal but, it is a Hell of a lot of car for the $$$...

Both the ITR and Miata handle like a dream... The Miatas power is less than the R's true but, bliss is Not always power and I've seen plenty of Miata drivers put shame to ITR drivers times. True it's Not always the power or car "mostly driver" but, you can't argue that Miata's are Not extremely competitive.
Besides with a nice used Miata and a few thousand dollars you can turbo it and run the heck out of it and kick ITR butt.

yeap, you just said. Turboing the miata make it more competitive with the R but, what happens when you turbo the R?... again, they have to be at par to compete.
Yes, I get your point and also think the Miata is a nice trainer car. I think sometimes to buy a used one to make it my track *****...

Drive the car, then tell me different... IT IS FUN...
I could see the 350Z being even more fun,,,, FR is a blast...
And I did see that BTW,,,

PS I'm not even thinking of Turbo really, it just handles so nicely, and his only has dampers and springs... I'm sure when he gets the M-3 I'll have similar positive things to say about that too... But, look at the cars we are discussing here, they are all GREAT cars.

You're right
Well, I got about the same argument with a Miata driver the other time at the Sebring track. But, anyway, fun cars to drive!
Edit: and not. i would not trade my R for a 350Z. It's powerful, no doubt, but feels heavier than the teg.

I think you are just misunderstand me altogether here.
I was Never comparing the Miata to the ITR nor was I comparing the 350Z to either.
I was stating how great both cars are and how great the 350Z will potentially be.
It is Not always comparing one next to the other as in power or speed. It is that special something you get when you drive it and the car actually speaks to you and you just drive everything naturally...
It's the feeling, not just speed and power...
But, remember always that "you can Never have too much available power." Always loved that quote.
Anyways, don't want to go too far OT...
Ok, at least we are seeing everything on the same page now, and I won't argue with trading in the R, I agree I wouldn't yet or maybe not even at all... I just need to drive it. BTW I said the same thing about the WRX after driving it, "it being heavy and mushy" and I would never trade my R for that either.
