What would you do with $13k
So my current car is an 03 si ep3. I'm planning to upgrade and I wanted to ask for opinion on what I should get.
I found a REALLLY clean 09 gti with 55k miles. The only con to it is that its semi-automatic =/ other than that it's pretty damn nice. $13k
But, I've always wanted a 4 door white FG2. I love this generation of Si. Especially the 4 door version. The only problem is, they're hard as **** to find, I can't find one in my area. #pissed.
So I be patient and wait for an FG2? Or go with the gti. I'm open to other suggestions too. Thanks in advance.

*ahem* buy a new hyundai *ahem*
just kidding
theres a reason the 4 door si is unavailable; its very popular. nothing u can do about that. u could buy a used acura tsx 200hp K24A engine and all the acura luxury options. better than a civic si and resale value should be enuff to trade for si when u can find one

Well first of an FG2 is a 2 door Si. What you want is an FA5 4 door Si.
09 GTI is a sluggish car with that small *** turbo they put on it. Even with a chip the car is very heavy. GTI does look nice.
I had an 02 Si Ep3 also and I got an Fa5 couldn't be happier... and would never look back on my decision. I really wanted an S2K but my ex gf at the time was being a hard *** about me getting another 2 seater. I'm happy with the FA5 and it's a blast to drive more so then the GTI i have driven many times.

You are indeed right. I test drove it today. It does pull off decently but I expected better. I honestly think my ep3 pulls harder than that thing.
I think I'm gonna follow in your footsteps. I managed to find ONE white Fa5* not too far from my school. 47 k miles. I swear this is a sign I should take it. I've been searching online for hours. If the seller responds, the bitch is mine.

I was gonna suggest a TSX as well. I like mine a lot better than my GF's 06 Si.
The problem with VW's is reliability. They're awful in that sector. Fixing them is expensive.

I'm in the chicago area.
Hmm I see, how come everyone recommends that TSX? That good of a car O.o? If so, what year should I aim for?
And yes I can drive stick. My current car is my ep3. And which year of TL?
Thanks for the suggestions

06-08 is where it's at for TSX's. Find a 6spd manual one. The 5spd auto models are boring.
I have a technology package...and I would definitely recommend that. You get NAV, voice command, bluetooth, etc. The seat position can be set to each individual key fob....which works great for me because I am 5'11 and my girlfriend is 5'3''.
Speaking of which....her DD is a 8th Gen Si NAV. I would take my TSX over her Si any day. The Si does feel more sporty. It has sharper handling and the throttle response/gearing is better. It also has a LSD.
But...the TSX is the right blend of everything. It's really fun to drive. I get between 28-32MPG just driving around the burbs. It doesn't feel that much bigger than the Si. The TSX actually handles very well. I have Teins SA coils on mine, but even when it was stock, it turned in really well. The quality of everything is so much better too. The Si's interior feels/looks pretty rough, IMO. The torque of the K24 is awesome. It shoves the TSX around pretty well with the manual trans.
Both cars have great stereos. The TSX's sounds more clear and refined. The Si has a subwoofer...so the bass is *slightly* more powerful. The NAV screen in the TSX is larger and looks better.
Mine is my DD. It's not my only car. But since its the only car I don't have in storage...it is, for all practical purposes, the only thing I drive. I can't find enough good stuff to say about it. 06+ K24A2's are fairly heavily improved over 04-05's. They respond better to mods. Check out the Hondata reflash for the TSX. 32hp and like 29lbs in the midrange! From a plug and play computer.
IDK....drive both cars. If you want something more sporty, you'll definitely go for the Si. It's loud, rides kinda rough, has short gearing, etc.
Complaints about the TSX:
-REALLY laggy E-throttle. Can probably be tuned out.
-No LSD
-Nothing else.
