Default 96 accord wont start

I have a 96 honda accord 2.2 vtec. My daughter was driving and it was running fine when it just died. I have checked all I could think of. Its in time with a fairly new timing belt. Its getting spark. And its getting fuel. I checked the compression and every cylinder is 120 dry and 170 wet. The engine light comes on when I turn on the ignition then goes out after 2-3 seconds. The car seemed to be running fine until I aquired this problem. I seem to be baffled. I am not an expert mechanic but I have worked on many cars and am fairly good at trouble shooting. Oh and I put a scanner on it and got a 9-20 code I think it said something about power supply. Thanks for any insight or recommendations.

You put a scanner and got a code 9-20? Or codes 9 and 20? Which would still be weird being that OBDII has P**** codes. But OBDI code 9 is Crank sensor, and 20 is ELD.
Cranks sensor issue would cause a no start. If she drove through some puddles or junk the Cranks sensor may just have crud on it, or the wiring may have been damaged or the connection come loose.

On a '96/'97 that Sensor is ~$100 aftermarket, ~$300 from Honda. So make sure it is good before throwing parts at it. Check the connectors and for any ferrous material built up the magnetic pickups.

I thought only OBDII cars used a crank sensor, and on OBDI the sensor was in the distributor. But again, if it is a 96, then it should e OBDII and the codes would be different. Right?
