I started the car up, drove it into the garage to top off the rad and when I went to start it to go to work it would just crank and crank and crank.

It won't come out of park, the silver button is locked in place.

The fuel pump doesn't sound like it primes.

any ideas? Did my year come with the chip in the key? Could the receiver portion in the car have gone bad? I've tried to start it with 3 known good keys and it was the same problem.

 

well....I dunno what happened but I left it alone for 5 hours or so and when I came back it fired right up and went through all of it's gears without a problem.

 

I'm having the same problem. I think it is the computer. when I plug in a OBD code reader it says connection error.

 

Even if the engine doesnt start, with the car turned to II(ON) you should still be able to press the brake pedal and move the shifter out of PARK.
Check the ignition switch for wear and slop.

 

What about the random starting problems? Turns over but will not start. Checked a plug... no spark. New coil and has 12V w/key on.
