Transmission Repair SE Virginia (Virginia Beach/Norfolk)
1996 Accord 5-Speed
In 5th Gear (Only 5th Gear) I am hearing a whining sound when accelerating. The sound is louder and lower pitched at lower speeds (40-50MPH) and gets higher pitched with increased speed.
I have been told it is the bearing on the output shaft, and that a complete rebuild of tranny swap is the best way to tackle it.
Please let me know if you have heard of this issue before or have a mechanic recommendation.
Thanks,
Trever T
