Back from the dark side
Hi everyone as the title says back from the dark side aka years and years of wrenching and tuning VW and Audis. Here to get back into the Honda scene and learn about everything I've missed. That's a lot my last honda was my first new car 94 Civic EX. Today I have an 02 Accord EX 2.3L ULEV VTEC 5 Speed which is in need of a new power plant I picked it up for cheap as it has near 0 compression on number 3 cylinder. As of this moment the plan is pretty simple we'll at least for the people with the know how here. I plan to transplant a JDM H22 into it after I get everything in house. Want to go through the engine and replace all the seals, gaskets, water pump, oil pump and timing belt system as well as delete the balance shafts before I bolt it in. The only part of that I'm debating over is the BS delete want to get opinions on this as far as any adverse effects ie damage with high rpm use and if the JDM engines use a knock sensor if removing the BSs will cause any issues with the ECU pulling back timing because of added vibration.
