Hey guys,
First post here but with a DIY install!
I bought some Morimoto Mini H1 6.0 projectors from TRS

and the Motocontrol Harness for H4/9003 bulbs

I was on the fence about trying to retrofit because I heard that it was hard and you could easily mess things up. Not to mention that some retrofits cost BIG BUCKS!

The Morimoto Mini 6.0 are as simple as they come, plug n' play.

So I took the plunge and ordered them on a Monday and had them on my doorstep on Wednesday.

Read the instructions online beforehand on how to install the projectors piece by piece along with the wiring harness.

Step 1:
Remove the bumper. This made me nervous because this is the first time I have had to pull my bumper off to get to the headlight housings. It was a breeze.

Remove the black clips on top.

Remove the black clips and Phillips head screws on bottom.

Remove the 8mm bolts from right inside the fender well.

Pull from fender well on bumper, then the bumper slides right off.

Remove the (2) 10mm bolts from on top of the headlight housing.

Remove the 10mm bolt from the side of the housing.

Remove the 10mm bolt from the tricky spot right under the inside corner of the housing.

Remove the last 10mm bolt from the black piece hanging on to the housing.

Then unplug all of the wiring and get ready to bake!

Once the housing have been removed, remove the grommet over the bulb and the bulb itself. The grommet will be needed but not the old bulb!

Preheat your oven to 220 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once preheated place your headlight housing into the oven and let it sit for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, carefully remove the housing while wearing some gloves.

There were 5 small clips holding the housing together around the edges of the housing, just pop those suckers right off. Pick a corner and use all of your Superman or Woman strength to pull the housing apart!

Once open set aside the front part and get ready for the fun!

Start by letting the housing cool down enough to touch without gloves.

There will be a small Allen screw holding the glare shield and bulb holder in place, remove it.

Using the instructions I provided earlier install the projector and make sure the projector isn't drooping.

Next, run your HID bulb through the old grommet I talked about earlier and place into the hole and install the new bulb holder.

Once you have wiped your fingerprints off of the projector, slide the shroud of your choosing over the projector and make sure to use a good amount of adhesive so it doesn't come loose later on.

Lastly, add some weatherproof silicon around the edges of the housing a mush it back together. Replace the clips and you have one headlight done!

Follow the instructions that I provided earlier to wire up your wiring harness and I uses double sided outdoor tape to hold all my ballasts up!

Next replace the housings using the same bolts, and replace your bumper!

And badda-bing badda-boom! You just retrofitted your Civic!
