h23a swap help
Hey everyone, im doing an engine swap i have a 98 prelude 2.2 vtec and i purchased a h23a blue top and i need help on getting the timing belt. Does the h22A4 timing belt fit on the h23a? Or what should i go with and where do i get it. Please help. And if i can get a link where i can be buying parts that will also help a lot thanks.

U will want the h22 timing belt its a snug fit but can be done. Im in the middle of the same swap myself. These swaps arent that well documented. All they say is use the long block and transfer the stuff from the h22a4 over to the h23a BT. But the thing is what if u want to use the BT Throttle body and the nice aluminum fuel rail it has. There isnt much info when it comes to that. Well not yet anyways!

Just use the stuff. The throttle body bolts and plugs right in, the fuel rail is fine, but you will have to run a custom fuel line because the fitting is on the opposite side. Not complicated.
The H23AV throttle body is very different, doesnt have FITV for instance. The fuel line fitting is not on the opposite side. The fuel rail has 2(JDM H23V Fuel Rail) screw mount points instead of 3(USDM Fuel Rail)

That's why when I read I take it with a grain of salt due to some people giving misleading info.

I never give misleading info.
Assuming that you are OBD1 and tuned then the TB will work fine... just use your tuning software accordingly. I have used it with both the Usdm OBD1 upper, and with the EuroR intake as well. To use the fuel rail, if you keep the H23A intake manifold lower, then all you have to do is just run a different fuel line so that it can reach to the other side (since the JDM fuel fitting is near the number 1 cylinder and the USDM fuel fitting is on the side by the number 4 cylinder). If for some reason you want to transplant the fuel rail to a USDM manifold, then either make a bracket or (if the 2 holes line up) just bolt it up with the 2 holes over the outer studs. I have never used the USDM lower manifold but the casting looks identical so my guess is that it would line up…. but that is JUST a guess. You might have to remove that center stud, and use different spacers to adjust the fuel rail height. Not a big deal. Worst case scenario, a simple bracket would do the trick.
I know it sucks typing but those are the kinds of response's that help people out when their doing the swap.
I have the 2001 H23 so it was alil harder to swap but not by much. In order to use the fuel rail I just moved the studs and spacers over to the USDM Intake Manifold and removed the center stud. And again the Fuel Line fitting is on the Drivers side well on my 98 prelude it is. 92-96 im guessing the same side too.
