Default 94 Accord LX Speedometer Not Working

Speedo was working previously until son ran out of oil and destroyed the cam gear, put a junkyard motor in it and junkyard manual trans in it and the speedo is not working. Talked to some people and they said VSS so replaced that. Still not working, tested cruise control as not working. Tested power to VSS harness and all the voltage is testing fine as it should be according to specs.

Was thinking speedo circuit board but CC not working indicates another problem. Any recommendations? Was thinking ECU but want other opinions before I throw any more parts at it.

Thanks in advance.

Check that you have attached all engine and body to engine grounds for the harness.

If you still have the original VSS install it. Possibly the used and the new one were bad, you know the original one was good.

Actually...that one was showing bad too.....original trans ended up being bad, swapped out after motor swap. I know.....a little backwards but the new clutch kit didn't fix the issues it was having. So I've tried two used VSS and now the new one.
