Default Spec 98 bottom block California Smog?

Before I spend anymore money. I want to know if the Spec 98 bottom block with a 2001 USDM head will pass California Smog, I have an inspection soon after I redeploy back to the states. I know that the 98 has a 11:1 cr while the USDM ITRs only had a 10.6:1 cr. Any advice to make it pass smog?

i don't think you'll have any issue with smog. It'll pass the visual fine, they don't check block castings or the like for inspection. Make sure the intake and exhaust are stock, and that the ECU is a USDM one for your year.

your goin to need to reuse the 01 usdm oil pump and timing cover because of the sensor that is mounted on it.
