98 Accord squeals at start up
Hi,
I'm new here and my first question may sound silly but I'm also new at DIY car repair.
We have a '98 Accord LX that we love and are trying to repair, I have recently discovered that whenever I turn the key to the ignition position, I hear a squeal for about 2 secs while the engine starts running, then it goes away.
I have looked at the belts and they don't seem to be cracked.
Could someone help me with this?
Another question, are those belts called serpentine belts or timing belts?

Belts for the A/C and PS are serpentine, timing belt is under a cover and cogged(it will not squeal). If the serp belts are old, slightly loose, or glazed they will squeal. There are 'belt dressing' sprays that can be used to aid in traction. Make sure there is no oil, the belts are properly tight, and they are not glazed.
