Icon2 D16z6 block with D16y8 head. - 94 EX Coupe (EJ1)

Does the harness have to be a y8 obd2 harness? Because my vtec doesn't engage. Anyone have a solution or anything? Please let me know so I can fix this problem. The motor is running fine just at 5500 rpm nothing happens and it redlines like a d series motor that is not suppose to have vtec.

How do you know vtec isn't engaging?

Again, if you can redline it and not throw a CEL then VTEC is working.

your z6 harness/ecu are correct. no cel= no vtec problems, unless you have low oil pressure.

Does the dizzy matter. I'm running a z6 dizzy instead of a y8 dizzy and just only one bolt is screwed on.

for your application, the d15b7 distributor will bolt directly to the head without having to swap your z6 guts to a y7/y8 dist.
