Default Need help loosening the alternator (drive belt change) on a '93 Civic

I'm trying to replace the drive belt (or alternator belt, I'm not sure of what the name is) and I can't get the alternator to move. I've loosened the two top screws, but it seems there isn't one on the bottom as there is in one of the YouTube clips I've watched. There's just a hole, and it doesn't look like a screw is even supposed to be there. Anyway, I've got the power steering belt off without any problems (as this one goes behind it), but I'm not sure of how to get the alternator to budge. It's a 1.5L '93 Civic, does anyone have any experience with them specifically? Is there a special trick I'm missing? Could it just be rust holding it in place?

Depending on where you are it might be frozen due to road salts.

Have you tried hitting it with a hammer, if at all possible to do so. Isn't there a little notch on the top or something that you can put a 14mm open ended wrench on to make the tension tighter or looser? or am i just imagining things and probably mentioning from another cars alternator lol.

Sounds like you didn't get the Denso alternator and the car has seen many winters with salted roads. I guess the Mistubishi ones corrode up really good while the Denso ones take the salt and still lets bolts go.

Also sounds like someone already broke the bolt head off the bottom if you can't find a bolt there.

Here is the 92-95 FSM page on the Alternator belt:

Thanks for all the advice, the car has indeed seen a good few winters and salted roads but a few hits with a hammer on that lower bolt (or lack thereof) did the trick and I got it loose and got the belt on. However, it seems the alternator's buggered (doesn't turn at all) and I'm going to have to get it replaced as I don't think I'll bother with trying to get it fixed. There's a few people around here who are selling old Civics (92-95) for parts, so I reckon I'll just get it off them, will any particular Civic from that era be fine in this case?
