Default What's the best way to make my 2006 ride smoother?

I've got about 150k miles on my 2006 Civic. The ride seems to be getting rougher and rougher. What's the best way to smooth the ride out? New shocks? Which ones? Springs too? Which ones? I know its a Civc and it's never going to ride like a Mercedes, but its got to ride better than what it is right now. Any suggestions? And No, I'm not looking to lower it at all. Just want more comfort.

Replace the current suspension with new factory parts to restore the ride quality. Anything else will not be the same.

i wouldn't go with a softer suspension then stock as it will alter the way the car handles!

Ride is crap because your shocks are worn out. This should be pretty obvious. Shocks don't last 150k miles, period.

Replace your shocks and the "smooth" ride will return. Also, have whoever does so inspect your bushings as well.

And don't buy $25 shocks from the local AutoParts store. Get OEM parts.

Any other indications of bad shocks?

Push down on a corner of your car. If the car settles under the pressure, the suspension is done.
If you hear squeaks and rattles as you drive then you know the shocks are gone.

Have a listen to your car as you drive, it will tell you what you need to know.
