Valve Spring Upgrade- School Me!
Hey guys, been on the forum a while just never posted because I haven't needed to...you guys are extremely knowledgeable
I have an internally stock 2002 acura rsx-s k20a2 with kpro and a 8600 rpm rev limit. I had a valve adjustment before I installed kpro. My valves sound good, no slapping, still in time I believe but I know if I keep running up to 8600 rpm when I drive spiritedly im running the risk. once again my motor is stock.
so ive been told yes and no by both tuners and mechanics that I need to upgrade valve springs....so im playing it safe and doing it....my question is does the k20a2 come stock with dual springs? can I JUST upgrade only my springs? id like to keep the steel/oem seats and retainers if possible (keep cost down)..just want to upgrade the springs....thanks!!!

Are you upgrading the cams? Are you building the engine? Why do you need just springs?
The 05 Type-S comes with a much better valve springs (similar to ITR) so upgrade to the Z1/Z3 valve train or the ITR. Or go aftermarket
But again why do you need a spring upgrade?

hey spaz wassup man and nah im keeping everything in the motor stock just using the 8600 rpm redline....but my tuner and my mechanic told me that as long as I keep up basic engine maintenance and get my valve lash adjusted at the regular intervals I will be fine
