High Idle after SRI Install
Really High Idle after SRI Install HELP! When i installed my short ram intake in my prelude it started idling high. Before the intake, at rest when i first started it would idle like 1k-1200, and when warm it was like 700. When i installed this intake, start up would be like 3k then go down slowly to like 2000 and then go down to like 1500.....and when i drive the car and brake, it just keeps reving at 2k when i am completely stopped and i sound dumb looking like im reving my engine....and then after clicking the brake for like 5-10 seconds, it drops to normal idle then starts again. sometime at brake it revs so high that if i put my foot off the brake, it can pull itself to like 10-15 mph lol.....Can someone help me fix this? I have also notice my mpg is lowering due to that reving and my wallet is getting emptier...PLEASE HELP
I already tried resetting the ECU by removing the battery terminals and I checked for vacuem leaks and I didnt find any.....The pipe that went from the valve cover to the stock intake was replaced with a breather filter (didn't make a difference)....The PCV is connected to the intake manifold...the intake is connected to the throttle body...I dont know what to do
BTW: I have a 94 prelude si

Is the idle surging up and down, or does it just randomly jump up at times? Check your IACV, maybe you need to clean it. You can also test if the IACV is causing issues by unplugging it while the car is running and seeing how it effects the idle. If you unplug it and the idle does not chance, then that is likely your issue, or at least contributing to it. Also make sure the throttle position sensor is connected and functioning properly. You can test the voltage across it and calibrate it to spec, or replace it if necessary. Instructions on that, as well as testing the IACV are in the Helm's manual, which you can get here: http://pastebin.com/PJEcvsJD
