selling a jdm h22 will it fit in the acura 2.2?
any problems etc.?

I have one in my 2.3 CL and on acura-cl.com theres about 4 or 5 people with h22 swpas in 1st gen CL'S. Its not as easy as dropping it right in but as far as swaps goes it on the easy side. If you need more info or pics check out http://www.acura-cl.com

 

Oh by the way in the link that satan_srv posted thats my CL on the bottom, the white one with a CF hood. Mr. Sumo whose CL is on that link is also from acura-cl.com.

what engine comes stock in a cl?

 

In the '97-'99 CL they are 3 different engines depending on your model.

The 2.2 CL has a f22b1 (only available in '97)
The 2.3 CL has an f23a ( only available in '98 and '99)
and
The 3.0 CL has a j30a

The engnies are all SOHC VTEC engines.

And it's not a bad engine at all. My mom has a 98 3.0, I love driving it.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to replace that engine with an h22...

 

The h22 swap has only been done on 4 cylinder CLs. The engine mounts bolt right up with an h22 (except the driver side mount) oonly on 4 cylinder CLs. The 3.0 has a totally different engine bay layout and extensive mods would be needed to accomedate and H22. But alot of people with 3.0 CL's wish they had h22 since so little aftermarket parts are availbale for the j30a engine. The fastest 3.0 CL I know of has run a 13.6 in the 1/4 mile (heres the video http://www.undergroundracing.com/vid...%20Imports.wmv).

 

any updates of people swapping H22 into 2.2CL? I'm thinking about going ahead with this swap but wanted peoples thoughts.
