Default Need help finding G401 & G403, 95 Accord EX

Hi. My power locks, power windows, and power mirrors all stopped at the same time a few months ago. I've checked the wiring in the driver's door and found no continuity to G401/G403. Grounds G402/G404 show proper continuity.

I've been unable to locate G401, which I believe to be behind the driver's kick panel, somewhere behind or above the fuse box. The diagrams I've seen don't really specify exactly where it is. I've pulled the panels off and used flashlights and mirrors and spent a lot of time looking, but cannot find it.

After removing the glove box, I found a ground connection there very easily. A bunch of black wires, some plain black and some with various colored dots run into a white connector, which is secured to the chassis by a screw. But I'm not sure if that's G402 or G403, as, again, my diagram doesn't show enough detail. (I have pix, but am new here and am not able to post them for a few more days.)

I assume that G401 will be the same kind of white plastic connector secured to the chassis, but I've looked everywhere behind driver's side kick panel and don't see it.

I'd appreciate it if someone can guide me to G401, and tell me how to differentiate G402 from G403. Also, if someone can explain why each circuit's ground wire goes to 2 ground points, I'd appreciate it. Are they both needed, or just one?

Thanks very much.

G401 is far up behind the left side of the dash.

However, your issue sounds like a loose ground wire from G401 at the driver's door jamb area, specifically connector C417 (a gray 17P connector). Check the driver's door jamb wiring. When you pull out the rubber grommet, you'll see connector C418 (a blu/gray 15P connector) and connector C417. C417 is where you should look. -- It is relatively common area for the problem you're describing.

Tech8 - Your advice was spot-on. I checked C417, and found that the ground wire coming from the dash had pulled/broken free from the connector. Now, I'll have to set aside some time to fix it. Not much room there to work in! Thanks very much for your help.

NerfGunner420 - Thanks for the diagrams. I'd actually seen them online, but there's lots of different ones online, and I didn't know for sure if those were the correct ones for my model. Thanks for confirming that. In them, it shows that G401 looks pretty much the same as G402 and G403. I swear I've look everywhere under the dash and never did find it. Obviously, I've just missed it somehow, since I temporarily patched through the break (see above) and it does connect to ground. So, it has to be there, but at least for now I don't have to look anymore. :-)

Thanks again for your kind help.
