My Experience with Action Clutches
Welp, I purchased the clutch about 2 months ago from 2K_TEG, It is a 6puck unsprung hub, with a dual diaphram, 3000lb pressure plate.
Quality: Well when it got here, it looked great. the ONLY problem with it was the paint they used still smelled wet (probably because it was on a hot truck for god knows how long. it was not wet to the touch tho). The smell quickly went away as the clutch collected dust on my couch
They painted the pressure plate red. good it will match my car i thought. the construction of the disc is great, very high quality construction. I would have taken pictures to show you all but i dont have a digital camera. It came with an alingment tool, throwout bearing and release bearing. all worked great.
I finally got off my butt and put it in last weekend. (old clutch almost died finally
) my first drive with it was last night. First impression was this: even tho its a stiff pedal, it does compare to stock like everyone said it would, and it is VERY streetable. It only took me about 3 rolls from a light to get it engaging smoothly as stock. It grabs so damn hard its scarry. Im going to wait a few weeks to take it to the track because rocket said when the pad is rivited to the disk it bulges a little and to "go easy" for a little bit. but from what ive seen and felt, its a definate improvment and i cant wait to see a faster 60' and 1/4 time.
I figured i would post this in the FI forum because Rocket dosent venture outside of it much (i dont blame him.) This clutch was planned to be used on a b16turbo and then on a turbo b20vtec, but im actually gonna sell my car move on. ive had a hit of the "gofast crackpipe" and i want more. (road racing)
so in conclusion, this is a VERY streetable clutch and will hold power.
My car: 94 civic EX with a second gen B16.
Other mods: intake, header, flywheel, bla bla. lots of the basic bolt ons.
update: its new been a few weeks with the clutch and i love it more than ever. Still waiting to go to a dragstrip but the car does go ALOT better off the line.

Its a clutchnet flywheel i got from Ben@importparts.com
ive never had a problem with it matching with the starter so the flywheel gets my approval too.

I ordered a stage 2MD from Rocket with a custom 3500 lb. pressure plate. Hopefully it'll hold the 300+ ft-lbs of torque I am going to throw at it.
glad to hear the good stories about ACTION. We have been using them way back 10 years ago and always been satisfied with ACTION. I wish they got into the scene nationally along time ago.
Good to hear this, we just put one of these (6 puck unsprung action clutch) in a built H22 planning to make lots of power.....the owner was a little worried about the streetability of the clutch, and after feeling the pedal it sure is tough

just to add:
ACTION also makes Full Race pressure plate/iron disc combinations. Feel free to IM me for any questions on those
also, mild upgrades apart from the 1MD, 2MD, 2KS, 1KS are also available.

Well guys my experiance with the 2md has just been awsome,
I put it in my car (turbocharged Gsr) on a friday and thinking "this thing is gona feel so hard I just hope it not to be like my frinds act" and than took it out for a drive, after 1 spin around the block my hopes were furfilled because the cluch felt just a little bit harder than stock. Making my self proud of my purchase I loaded the car up on the trailer..
On the following day I threw some 24.5x8x13" slicks on it and broke the clutch in with a nice long 2nd gear burnout and a 6000rpm drop!!
The cluch felt very solid and never missed a beat for the next two days of torcher..
As fahr as streetability goes I couldn't have asked for more "Its the Chit"!!

for action clutches

I just put my 2MD in my turbo monster last week....it is at great clutch, no chatter and it grabs very hard......good pedal feel and very streetable. Just got past 600 miles today, so I will start getting on it a little more now.
Anyone have a 2MD or 2KS in LA area I can take a look at?
My clutchnet stage 2 clutch makes weird noises when I try to engage it and I am afraid it might be gone. I want a pedal feel similar or little bit harder than stock, engages like stock but holds like a ****
.
Who sell these things at a good price?

To the people w/ turbo setups and using the action clutch, are you using a lightweight flywheel? If so what brand and how do you like it?
I am looking to order a Action 2md clutch for my setup, but sure if I should opt for a clutchmasters flywheel or oem flywheel *itr/si/gsr*.
Comments welcomed..
Thx
