Thanks a ton, Zach.
I'd really love any help you could give me on this front - I'm new to Hondas.
Background:
- Car ran great, never had any issues in last six months (just passed inspection weeks ago)
- I sprained my ankle and couldn't drive (left ankle and manual car)
- It sat for two weeks - I had to move it for street cleaning and it ran fine
- A week after that, I went to start it up and it turned but did not start
What I did:
- I cranked the key many times, but no starting--- talked to local mechanic and he said that I should cycle the key because sometimes the fuel in the line will go back down the lines
- So, I tried that and cranking again, no luck
- I got some starter fluid and sprayed it in the intake, a little chug, but no deal
- Checked the spark plug - I've got fire
- Every so often, I'll get some revs, but nothing above 500 rpms, then dead again
Thanks a ton, Zach.
if u dont know how to listen to the priming ... get a fuel pressure tester from Harbor Freight and hook it up and see if you got fuel pressure when its not starting ... it could either be the the main relay or the fuel pump
if no pressure then send power directly to the fuel pump to see if its dead
techauto.awardspace.com
use that site to help

With the starting spray, it shouldve started. I would suspect either, low compression or timing. Could be a crank sensor, you may have fire, but not firing at the right time.
