Icon2 Accord Wagon different axle lengths?

I had bought a new Passenger side Axle for my 1996 Wagon
CE2 5 Speed F20B3 136 Hp ABS

Now my old axle had fallen apart and I had difficulties getting it together again to measure it's length properly.

Anyway I ordered a new Axle from a website here and went to install it I then noticed it seems shorter then the one that was in it before.

Is anybody familiar with different passenger side axle lengths?

The replacement I got is a Cevam 7005Z and they state the length is 600mm when I look at the two axles the original seems at least 2 cm longer.

If your wagon looks like this...

Specs I have for MT axle length is 486-491mm. I believe this is the measurement to the flanges, and not the tip of the stub axle(splined) sections.
This measurement is taken after fully extending and then full compression the axle to set the CV boots in the correct position.

Heya Mike.

Thanks again mate.

Yes it is that model I will measure the length from flange to flange.
Do you have any clue where I can find the OEM part number for this axle?
Is there a site or log or something similar where people can find the OEM part Nr's for there model?

I tried phoning the Honda dealer (2hrs drive) but I do not speak French and they do not speak English Dutch German or Portuguese

Maybe I can do a cross reference with the internet shop that sold me the one they did.
Or at least check other sites.

On the wheel side it's the flange that robber gasket sits. On the trans side it will be that first machined step IIRC.

There is Majestic Honda...

Hopefully it is not a geo-locked site for you.
44010-SV1-A51 is the part number I have for left/right.
Price for each axle is US $208.33

1994-1997 are the USDM model years. LX for F22B2, EX for F22B1 VTEC. We did not have the 1.8/2.0 or DOHC engines in these Accords.

FWIW there is also ROCKAUTO.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php
Look up the parts under 2.2 as the others do not list 'drivetrain' which is where the axles would be.
Just did a quick lookup for price of both axles and shipping to Nice, France.
Axles left and right would be US $98.58 and shipping would be US $111.87, with discount code 2129683319199854 it nocks off a few bucks to $205.52.

CARDONE SELECT Part # 664092 CV Drive Axle Front Right
CARDONE SELECT Part # 664088 CV Drive Axle Left, Standard trans.

I don't know why Cardone has two different part numbers for what should be the same axle. They are new units made by Cardone, so they may have made their own changes to improve the axles.

I have used the Cardone Select brand axles for years with no problems.
There is also a Cardone A-1 reman axles. I would avoid any reman axles.

I have noticed with some Honda part numbers that they may not be the same(original) number, even if it is the same part/fits same application.

Wow Thanks Mike I am looking at the sites now and I can not believe the price difference.

I can not type in words how grateful I am that you took all the effort you did!

I know the motor* in my car is basically a destroked F22B2 so axles etc should be interchangable.
(*F20B3)

Even with the (High) shipping costs and added import duty these are far cheaper then here.
I know where I will be getting my parts from now on if possible.

Also thank you for the headsup about the part numbers
