I have a 96 accord exr with the f22b1 motor and i have the f23 I/M, and i am wondering if i need to plug the FIA ports above the injectors? what gasket do i use on the manifold? what is the perpose of the spacer plate on the icav from rosko racing?

Yes you will need to block the FIA ports. You can use a 96 F22B1 intake gasket. Reason for the adapter plate is so that you can run the 96 Accord IAC valve. The F23 IACV will not work with the 96 Accord wiring or the ECU.

You will more than likely either need to space the throttle body or even add a another spacer to the IACV adapter, the rosko adapter is not thick enough to sufficiently clear the TPS and leaves a gap. Gap=vacuum leak and surging idle when cold.

I will be custom machining the plate myself. how thick should it be and should i machine the ports to the f23s square ports or like the circular ports on the rosco adapter plate?

You have to transition them so that the two round holes from the 96 coincide with the proper ports on the F23 intake manifold. Doesn't matter if you use circles or squares as long as the two ports don't cross and cause a vacuum leak.

You're welcome.

Good luck with your Accord build.

I'd say at least a half inch to 3/4 inch thickness. Basically, I'd install the manifold, mock up the IACV to where it needs to be, and make it from that measurement if you can afford the down time. I'll try to get out tomorrow and measure the thickness of mine to give you an idea.

If you'd be up to make a batch of them, I'd be very interested. I like my Rosko piece a lot(it's a beautiful part), but it doesn't fit quite right and I hate the stupid vacuum leak it causes.

I bought one from another company (not Rosko but maybe Blackworks?) and the problem with it is that the IACV is turned 90 degrees from where it is on the F22B1, and now the water outlets hit the throttle body. This is because the alignment of the ports on the F23 is different. So I am thinking that I should make an adapter where the connecting holes are drilled at an angle instead of straight through. That way I can keep the same orientation of the IACV and have it fit the same as it did on the F22B1. Now I just have to find the proper aluminum and a machine shop willing to fool with a small project.

3/4 to 1 inch is the correct thickness for us. The rosko adapter is 1/2 inch thick.
