it was 86 today in ohio i kicked the ac on and wow hot air , i had it on about 1 week ago it was pretty cold in the city until i got on the freeway which made no since at all so i figured it was low so i bought a can of freon put it nothing happen the gauge said i was in the range it needed to be the condenser fan was even on i checked the fues relays and everything i even spun the clutch on the compressor to make sure it wasnt locked up !!!!


any suggestions or known issues with the 2006 tsx 6speed ac units? i have a friend who can drain it alll and put it back in like it was new again should i start there? thanks

 

Pull the compressor relay and see if it rattles when you shake it, check for power at the compressor with a/c on and car running. look at the clutch and it see it it's reddish brown/burnt looking. more common problem is the clutch and stator going out, the relay rattling is a dead give away. if freon is at proper pressure, clutch is usually bad.

 

ive switched the relays around if that helps? so take it out see if i hear loose parts shaking around

Never throw parts at a car. Find out what's wrong with it and fix it right. Clutch, stator and relay are common, but not definite.
