Default CRX Axle Strength

Wondering about the strength of my axles. My CRX is an '89 HF, I've got an Si tranny. First of all, since I didn't do the swap, would it be possible that I still have the HF axles or do I have to have the Si axles with Si tranny? Once this is answered, how strong are these axles? With my ZC engine a drag slicks, how much stress would I place on them? Should I not even worry?

it is definitely possible to reuse the HF axles with the Si tranny. If you had upgraded to the Si axles then you would have also had to upgrade to DX or Si knuckles and brakes.

The HF axle is smaller on the outside (the part that goes into the hub) and is thinner (not as strong) I have no idea how much power they can handle but I know plenty of people that are using them with their ZCs (but they are not drag racing with slicks).

Hope this helps
