Default Fidanza 3.4kg flywheel

A friend has one that came off his b16a with S4c gearbox. Think he may have also used it with a B20 and S4c box setup most recently.
Very low mileage on it.

Will it work on the ITR, with stock clutch?

Is it worth the money & effort?

i had a friend that had a 7 or 8 pound fidanza flywheel in his civic w/various b-series swaps..

he had a jdm gsR at first, then had a jdm itR in it. i know he had the fidanza flywheel in the jdm gsR because i drove it at one point when it had it...holy **** talk about converting the clutch to an on/off switch as opposed to having a transition area for engagement. im not certain if he had the same flywheel in the jdm itR but id imagine it should work...but why if thats all youre doing? unless you are trying to stock up parts for a build at some point which i could understand..

Well, I have a jdm 98spec itr. I had planned on an 84mm with b20 crank 550whp turbo setup, which I have almost everything for, but then decided on some na fun first.

Na setup will be sleeved 85mm b18c block, wiseco pistons 12.5cr, eagle rods, n3e box with wavetrac lsd, pro1 cams, s2 ultra street with 70mm Alpha tb, etc. Whole list of suspension mods too. Tein coilies with EDFC, etc.

in that case id say it would probably be something you could do..

it all depends on personal preferences. me after having driven steve-o's 96 ek civic coupe w/ that jdm gsR motor with the fidanza flywheel & stage 3 clutch, i still didnt do the flywheel when i turbocharged the R and put a stage 4 clutch in it, because i preferred the way the stock flywheel worked...but that was also because at that point i did drive it with some frequency..

if its just going to be a straight drag car, yeah, you probably do want to do that, especially if you get a good price on it.

From my personal experience with the 7.5lb fidanza flywheel I installed on my integra i would highly recommend it. Going from all stock B18B1 to just adding the flywheel, the modulation felt almost exactly the same, any difference would be negligible. The response was fantastic considering the trans and lack of power, and revs were much quicker. And as far as boost goes I have no personal experience with it but I was involved with a shop that specialized in road racing and their experience showed a light flywheel even with boost was always superior to a standard flywheel in every way. I always read about a heavy flywheel being better to help build boost and thats a load of crap, they must prefer a lazy highway bomber to a crisp fast revving car.
