Default fuel pressure/plugs problems b18 ls

been messing with a b18a1 motor lately. ended up putting on a new fuel rail/ adjustable fuel pressure regulator + guage. after realising i mixed tps/map plugs.. and then the fuel leak... i got some symptoms

* motor ran roughly 150-200 rpms higher at idle then before the change. assuming fuel pressure is why.

decided to pull all 4 plugs and take a peek due to the backfires, and all 4 are pitch black, 2 worse then others. so i had a set of V power laying around, tossed them in. took it around the neighborhood again, and the difference in plugs... lol.. no more backfiring... but i lost all my top end and gained all bottum end.

*after swapping plugs* when coming to a stop the motor drops to 400rpms and struggles at 650 to idle.

soooooo... what fuel pressure should i be running? the directions that came wit the thing says 40-47 but im pretty sure thats at WOT, idle should be at like 36-38psi?? and are V power plugs really that bad? gonna grab a few sets of plugs for the motor, ngk has their cheapies,v power, g power.. just to test out.

** on a 2nd note though, since the install of fuel rail/fpr/gauge, when turning the motor off, it still sucks air for easily 4-5 seconds now, even though the motor stops turning right when u turn the key.
